Booking Terms & Conditions of Stay

In the present Terms and Conditions, the following terms shall have the meaning attributed to them below. These definitions prevail over any common usage.

The Riad — Riad Azoulay, a 17th-century boutique riad located in the Mellah, Marrakech Medina, Kingdom of Morocco.

Accommodation — Any lodging unit within the Riad made available to the Guest for the duration of the Stay, whether a Room or a Suite.

Room — A standard-category accommodation unit within the Riad.

Suite — A higher-category accommodation unit within the Riad, offering greater surface area and layout than a Room.

Guest — Any natural person who has made a Booking with the Riad, as well as any person staying at the Property under said Booking.

Booking — The commitment by the Guest to occupy an Accommodation for a determined period, subject to payment of the agreed price.

Stay — The effective period of occupation of the Accommodation, between check-in and check-out time.

2.1 Booking channels

Bookings may be made through the official website riadazoulay.com, authorised partner platforms, by email at contact@riadazoulay.com, or by telephone.

2.2 Booking confirmation

Every Booking is confirmed by a Booking Confirmation sent electronically to the Guest. This confirmation specifies the dates of the Stay, the Accommodation category booked, the number of occupants, the total price and the applicable specific conditions.

2.3 Credit card guarantee

Every Booking is guaranteed by the communication of a valid credit card in the Guest’s name. The Riad may proceed either with a pre-authorisation or with the debit of the deposit.

2.4 Third-party platforms

Bookings made through partner platforms are governed by the terms of that platform as regards the sale itself, and by these Terms and Conditions for everything relating to the Stay.

3.1 Rate plans and special offers

Each rate plan may include specific terms regarding price, deposit, cancellation, modification, non-refundability or inclusion of Ancillary Services.

3.2 Prices and currency

Prices are quoted in euros or Moroccan dirhams depending on the booking channel. Prices are inclusive of taxes, except for the tourist tax.

3.3 Methods of payment

Payments are accepted by credit card, bank transfer for group bookings, and in cash on arrival within the legal limit in force in Morocco.

3.4 Deposit at booking

Unless otherwise stated, a refundable deposit of 30% of the total Stay amount is required to guarantee the Booking.

3.5 Balance payable at check-out

The balance of the total Stay amount, less the deposit already paid, is payable at the time of check-out.

3.6 Security deposit

A security deposit of 300 € or the equivalent in dirhams is required on arrival, by credit card pre-authorisation or cash deposit.

3.7 Tourist tax

A tourist tax of 2.50 € per person and per night is due by the Guest and collected on arrival.

4.1 Arrival time

Check-in is possible from 2:00 PM local Moroccan time at 3, Rue Derb Jamaa El Kebir, Hay Essalam, Mellah, Marrakech 40000, Morocco.

4.2 Departure time

Check-out must be completed by 11:00 AM local Moroccan time at the latest.

4.3 Early arrival and late departure

Early arrival before 2:00 PM or late departure after 11:00 AM may be granted subject to availability and prior request.

4.4 Inspection

A summary inspection is carried out at check-out. The Riad reserves the right to charge damages, breakages or exceptional cleaning identified after departure.

5.1 Free cancellation period

Any cancellation notified more than 48 hours before the scheduled check-in date and time is accepted free of charge. The 30% deposit is refunded in full.

5.2 Late cancellation

Any cancellation notified less than 48 hours before arrival results in the full retention of the deposit, equal to 30% of the total Stay amount.

5.3 No-show

In case of no-show without prior cancellation, the 30% deposit is fully retained by the Riad.

5.4 Early departure

In the event of early departure, the nights not consumed from the day of departure are charged at 50% of their value.

5.5 Booking modification

Modification of the Booking may be allowed free of charge, subject to availability, when requested more than 48 hours before arrival.

5.6 Cancellation by the Riad

The Riad may cancel a Booking in the event of force majeure or non-payment of the deposit. Amounts already paid are refunded.

5.7 Procedure

Cancellation or modification requests must be sent by email to contact@riadazoulay.com, specifying the Booking number.

The Guest may request an extension before arrival or during the Stay, subject to availability. Additional nights are charged at the rate in force on the date of the request.

7.1 Minimum age

The Guest making the Booking must be at least 18 years old and must present a valid official identity document at check-in.

7.2 Children policy

Riad Azoulay does not welcome children under the age of 12. From the age of 12, young Guests are welcome and the adult rate applies.

7.3 Number of occupants

The number of occupants per Accommodation is strictly limited to that specified in the Booking Confirmation. Additional undeclared persons may be charged 50 € per person and per night.

7.4 Pets and service dogs

Pets are not admitted. Assistance dogs for persons with disabilities are welcome subject to presentation of the corresponding official certificate.

Smoking is strictly prohibited in all Rooms and Suites as well as internal common areas. Smoking is permitted only on the rooftop terrace and designated outdoor areas.

Excessive noise is prohibited between 10:00 PM and 8:00 AM. Parties, late-night gatherings and activities disturbing other Guests or the neighbourhood are not permitted.

The possession, use or trafficking of illicit substances is strictly prohibited within the Riad. Bed linen and towels remain the property of the Riad and must be left in the Accommodation.

Firearms, ammunition, bladed weapons, explosives and dangerous objects are strictly prohibited within Riad Azoulay, in accordance with Moroccan law.

The Riad is equipped with video surveillance covering common areas for security purposes. No device is installed in private areas or Accommodations.

Guests are advised to keep valuables, identity documents and cash in a secure place.

The Guest is liable for any damage, breakage or deterioration caused to the Accommodation, furniture, equipment or common areas of the Riad.

Damages identified are charged at market price upon presentation of a detailed statement and invoice of repair or replacement costs.

The Riad shall not be held liable for non-performance resulting from force majeure.

Personal data collected by Riad Azoulay in the context of the Booking and the Stay are processed in compliance with Moroccan law no. 09-08 and, where applicable, the GDPR.

No image of the Guest shall be used for commercial communication purposes without prior written consent.

The Guest may receive commercial communications from Riad Azoulay subject to explicit prior consent and may unsubscribe at any time.

Any claim relating to the Stay or Ancillary Services should be raised on the spot with the management of the Riad whenever possible.

Failing resolution, the claim must be sent by email to contact@riadazoulay.com within 30 days from departure.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Moroccan law. Any dispute falls within the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Marrakech, Kingdom of Morocco.
